Community engagement has always been central to how Dermatology Partners approaches care. Healing goes beyond the exam room—it also means educating, supporting, and protecting the communities we serve.
That philosophy is at the heart of our new partnerships with two Minor League Baseball organizations: the Reading Fightin Phils and the Wilmington Blue Rocks.
Throughout the upcoming season, Dermatology Partners will collaborate with both teams on initiatives to promote sun safety and skin cancer prevention. We will also connect with families and fans in meaningful ways. These partnerships are more than brand awareness opportunities—they show our pledge to giving back, educating, and helping people protect their health while enjoying the activities they love.
Bringing Sun Safety to the Ballpark
Baseball means warm weather, sunshine, and long days outdoors. While these are highlights of attending a game, they also raise important health factors, such as sun exposure.
Skin cancer remains the most common—and one of the most preventable—forms of cancer in the United States. Regular use of sunscreen, protective clothing, and sun-smart habits can lower the risk of developing skin cancer. Through our partnerships with the Fightin Phils and the Blue Rocks, Dermatology Partners aims to make these habits easier and more accessible for fans.
As part of these initiatives, Dermatology Partners will hand out sunscreen samples at select games during the upcoming season, with the goal of providing sunscreen dispensers to both the Fightin Phils and the Blue Rocks. These stations will give fans convenient access to sunscreen. Fans can quickly protect their skin without missing a moment of the action on the field.
By making sun protection visible and accessible where people spend time outdoors, we reinforce a simple message: protecting your skin should be part of every sunny day.
Family-Focused Engagement
At the Reading Fightin Phils, Dermatology Partners will sponsor Phunland—a family-centered space for young fans to play and enjoy the ballpark. With the Wilmington Blue Rocks, we will sponsor Family Funday.
Both initiatives express the same underlying goal: reaching people where they are. Baseball games bring together families, friends, and neighbors from across the region. By interacting with fans in these relaxed, community-focused environments, we can share important information about skin health in a way that feels accessible and practical.
Throughout the season, members of the Dermatology Partners team will attend select games in both cities. During these events, we will distribute educational materials about sun protection and skin cancer awareness. We’ll also explain the value of regular skin checks. Fans will have opportunities to ask questions and learn how to protect themselves and their families from harmful UV exposure.
Educating While Healing
At Dermatology Partners, our mission goes beyond treating skin conditions. We are equally committed to helping prevent them. Education is critical to that effort.
Too often, people underestimate the cumulative effects of sun exposure. Small habits matter. Applying sunscreen before spending the afternoon outdoors, or reapplying during a long day in the sun, can have a big impact over time. By starting these conversations at community events like baseball games, we can help normalize these practices. We aim to empower individuals to take active measures for their health.
Our partnerships with the Fightin Phils and Blue Rocks show our expanded commitment to community wellness. When organizations like healthcare providers, community institutions, and local teams work together, we can reach more people. Together, we amplify important health messages.
Looking Ahead to the Season
As the season begins, we look forward to spending time at the ballparks in Reading and Wilmington, cheering on baseball and connecting with the communities we serve.
For Dermatology Partners, these partnerships represent something simple but meaningful: the chance to educate while healing. By combining community engagement with practical sun safety resources, we hope to help fans enjoy the season safely. Our goal is to help fans stay safe today and for many summers to come.
