Jacob W. Charny, MD, FAAD was born in Philadelphia and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University with a BS in Anthropology and Human Biology. He earned his MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Celso-Ramon Garcia Award for Outstanding Women's Health Research.

He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital and his dermatology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he served as the Academic Chief Resident. Prior to joining Dermatology Partners, Dr. Charny worked in private practice in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Dr. Charny enjoys working with a diverse patient population and is proud to be inclusive and personalized in his approach to patient care. He sees patients of all ages, gender identities, sexualities, and skin colors. Dr. Charny listens to his patients and focuses on improving their self-confidence and quality of life. He practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with a particular interest in skin cancer prevention and the use of non-surgical cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Charny lives in Philadelphia with his husband, Bassel, and Portuguese water dog, Hugo. He enjoys going to museums and the theater, cooking, traveling, reading, and spending plenty of time in nature.
