Dr. Anthony V. Benedetto, after completing his internship, residency and surgical training at The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, returned to Philadelphia in 1978 to begin his practice in Dermatologic Surgery as the first physician in Pennsylvania to practice Mohs Surgery for the treatment of  skin cancer.Dr. Anthony V. Dr. Benedetto is the founder and medical director of the Dermatologic SurgiCenter first in Philadelphia and now in Drexel Hill, PA, which joined Dermatology Partners in July 2024. He serves as the Director of a dual program in post-graduate fellowship training in an ACGME-accredited  Micrographic Surgery and  Dermatologic Oncology program and in an ASDS-accredited Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery program. He also volunteers as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Benedetto holds membership and committee positions in many dermatologic societies and is currently the North American Vice President of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology; Secretary and  Treasurer of the History of Dermatology Society;  Secretary General of the North American Clinical Dermatologic Society, and is a Past President of many local, national and international societies. He is on the Editorial Board of SkinMed, and the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. He has won     numerous awards over the years, including ‘Dermatologist of the Year’ in 2009 given by the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Benedetto has authored or co-authored over 100 articles in peer reviewed journals and chapters in textbooks. He is the editor of  a wellregarded two-volume textbook on botulinum toxins. He frequently lectures at national and international meetings and enjoys traveling with his wife, Dianne, and spending time with the families of their four children and twelve grandchildren.
