First PA Physician to Practice Mohs Surgery to Become Part of Expanding Dermatology Network

Dermatology Partners, a premiere privately owned and physician-led dermatology group, is thrilled to announce renowned dermatologist Dr. Anthony V. Benedetto – the first physician in Pennsylvania to practice microscopically controlled Mohs surgery to treat both common and rare types of skin cancer – will join Dermatology Partners, the Mid-Atlantic’s premiere privately owned, physician-led dermatology group specializing in medical and surgical dermatology in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.
The Dermatologic SurgiCenter in Drexel Hill, PA, opened by Dr. Benedetto in 1992, will become part of Dermatology Partners’ growing practice, which now includes more than 30 clinics offering a full spectrum of services for the detection and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails, and specializing in advanced treatments for skin cancer such as Mohs surgery and Dermoscopy.

In addition to his ongoing practice, Dr. Benedetto serves as the Director for the ACGME-accredited Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship program and ASDS-accredited Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery fellowship program at the Dermatologic SurgiCenter, both of which will continue as part of Dermatology Partners.
A frequent lecturer and the author or co-author of over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in textbooks, he is also the editor of a well-regarded two-volume textbook on botulinum toxins. Dr. Benedetto is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. He was named “Dermatologist of the Year” in 2009 by the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
